Corfu Town and Gouvia

Corfu town was the first big city we have seen since Cagliari. It is a bit of a surprise to find such a big city on the Greek islands. Especially, since all of the islands we had visited, were only populated by small towns. The buildings were nice to see, and we were anchored next to the fortress.

While Corfu town was a nice enough place, it shielded our anchorage from the wind. This made Corfu town, and the adjacent Gouvia anchorge the hottest we had visited yet. 28 degrees, humid and no wind.

The Gouvia anchorage was made more pleasant by the waterski and parasail boats, that went right through the mooring field. However, Gouvia marina was good for a free deck wash, and the pick up of out genaker.
