Lavezzi Island off Corsica

From the one nature reserve, we went straight to the next. While Lavezzi island was only a few Nautical miles away, we did have to take the Spanish guest flag down as we crossed the border into France. We did not hoist the French flag, as this is Corsica, an no guest flag is probably better than the French one.

This one had no mooring buoys, and we carefully aimed Excalibur for a nice sandy patch. The boat next to us was not so careful and they managed to get their anchor wrapped around some rocks, as we later found out with a snorkel. While we installed ourselves ready for a spectacle*, tangled the anchor was, the crew managed to get it up just fine.
In this place the sea life was even richer than in Sardinia. We saw big schools of fish, we even saw a “large” fish (about half a meter). The Island of Lavezzi had a number of stunning rock formations, all formed by the wind.

* Ready off course with a snorkel and mask in hand, to offer help after an arbitrary period of suppressed giggles.

We actually saw an FP Lavezzi model anchored off the Island Lavezzi!
